How do you save Chandler? I read that you need 4 grip to do it, but I have been unable to get 4 grip. Could you please help? It normally goes from 3 to haunt.
You don’t need 4 grip to save Chandler, as far as I know! You just need to keep him with you when you’re fighting the sea monster. If you send him away he dies.
I know that I just want to see what happens when you do use grip. I have resorted to trying to add it up, but I can't figure it out the only thing I can do is keep him there with MC.

Ebon Light remains one of the few games I can play over and over again and sporadically find myself returning to. You can tell that a great lot of effort and love went into making this. I'm looking forward to seeing more work from Underbliss!
This was truly a memorable game to play. Far better than I expected. Though I wasn't sure what I was expecting at first, whatever it was, if any, was far exceeded by the actual visual novel itself and the overall story it told. It's the kind of thing that sticks with you for some time afterward, and doesn't want to leave, so that's saying something. It also has a ton of replay value, for those who are wondering about that. Five romance options, all Gh'allion Elves of the dark isle the main character finds herself on.
I also love the lore that's been given. I noticed that on my second playthrough, more lore can be unlocked, and it will give a purple bar to show just how much has been revealed so far, so that is yet another reason why multiple playthroughs would be a must, if you want to know all there is to know about the game and the background of the world it takes place in. The music is sad and somber at times, as well as danger/anticipation-inducing, so that's yet another plus to add to the mix. With one of the endings, it made me shed a few tears due to its outcome, but it is by no means, the only ending the MC could have.
If I were to give a complaint, the only complaint I would have, and this is minor, is that the scroll bar to read the compendium is rather annoying to click on and move it up and down to read all the information. You have to click on just the right spot in order to get it to behave, which can be a nuisance at times. This also goes for the save/load menu. But again, compared to the story and the awesome experience this game gives, renders that a rather moot, and unimportant point overall. At the very least, it is greatly lessened, and hardly a damper on one's enjoyment.
I am on my third playthrough now, my first playthrough having lasted a couple days or so. Despite what it says about the visual novel only being a few hours long, it took me longer than "just a few hours". Which was nice, because if it was too short, I might feel a bit cheated. But I didn't. I anticipate at least a few more playthroughs of this wonderful game.
If you're looking for a wonderful, memorable, story-rich visual novel about facing hardships, dangers, the unknown and finding out the history about a people the MC had never known about before, much less had never met before the start of the game itself, as well as inter-species romance, this is most likely something you're going to want to download and see for yourself just what it's all about. I doubt you'll be disappointed, I certainly wasn't. Quite the opposite.
A bit more about the story told:
The MC starts off in the village of Edric, within the Burned Forest, having lived in a tiny hut with her aunt Vanya her entire life, her aunt having raised her since the MC became an orphan after her father died, and her mother also being dead. It doesn't take long for her life to change dramatically, in which she is then swept away on an "adventure". Whether she wanted to go or not, she had no choice but to go where fate, luck or chance would take her. The strange power inside her begins to make itself known over the course of the story, something that was thrust upon her due to an unfortunate incident that occurred towards the VN's start, one that would end up changing her life forever, in both good and bad ways.
Character Creation...
The player has six choices to make for the character herself. Name, hair style, hair color, eye color, skin color, and disposition. These will influence what your character looks like, what she is called by, and how the story will unfold, according to the different choices that are made. Or you can keep the default name of Alenca Goffil, and start playing right away, with no character screen changes. The age of the character stays the same, and is generally assumed she is a young adult or an adult, at least 18 years old, if not older. Whatever last name you choose for the MC, her aunt's last name will also reflect the surname choice of the female protagonist. You cannot change the race or the gender, the MC is meant to be a human female, and a peasant from a small, secluded, and out of the way village.
Conclusion...
Simply put, get it! I donated money to this, even though it was free, and even though I didn't know what I was really going to get at first, I personally think it deserves to have a DL price. My moderate donation wasn't enough, I don't think, for how great this game truly is. Definitely a favorite of mine now.

Wow, just wow! I absolutely love this game! I love how players are given the option to choose MC's personality and how there are so many death ends should you choose the wrong options. It really teaches you to choose your words wisely, especially in dangerous situations. I also love the LIs, especially Vadeyn! He's my favourite <3 Definitely give this game a go if you are into dark fantasy romance genre~
To say this game is "great" is a mere understatement. It is cleverly thought out and does not get the credit it deserves.
The "player" has so many choices. What you choose does matter and there is a variety of routes and endings. Unlike previous visual novels I have played (*cough* being many), the player is greatly involved in this one.
You can design and choose a name for the MC (woohoo!). The music, the art, and -of course- the story itself all allowed me to immerse into the novel, which is very impressive. Characters did not feel rushed and were able to pique my interest.
I couldn't help but finish all routes and am very happy that I did. It is a game that left me wanting more, feeling sad that it had to come to an end. A very rare, but precious feeling coming from a VN.

I've played all the routes, and all the LI's and I absolutely love this game! The story and lore is captivating, and I'm finding myself wanting to know more about this interesting world. I just spent that past three days finishing every single route in the game and I'm still absolutely in love with this novel. I don't think I'll be able to look at a visual novel the same way again. Honestly, I've been avoiding playing this game since the second photo creeped me out and I don't do well with horror themes but I just finished my first playthrough with Vadeyn and ugh... the feels TT.TT I wish there were more romantic scenes with the LIs since Vadeyn's route is so sweet :(
*SPOILER* I wish we were able to see how Vadeyn interacted with MC's aunt in the end as well and honestly... I don't have the heart to stay at the island with the being :| maybe i'll try that option once I get the confidence to do that LOL
I was also hoping there were more fighting scenes and some sort of angst but that's okay! The plot is definitely unique and I loved how you created a stats page as well as a people, place, and lore section! There were also a good amount of customization and choices which you don't really see that much in VNs. I can't wait to finish the rest of the LIs and for your future works as well!! <3

I just finished this game, let me tell you this is AMAZING. I love the art style its like a breath of fresh air, and it felt like my choices mattered. I love how my character wasn't a complete ditz and managed to stand up for herself at times (lol). I also loved that you included person of colour customization options (made me feel included haha xD) and that there was overall solid customization options included in the game. I can only imagine if you had a huge team of people what you would come up with. The world building and lore was just icing on the cake.
I just ugh,I am a very picky person about these types of games, I will delete if they can't capture my attention in the first few mins. But you have impressed me and left a good impression at that! I will be happy to support you in any future endeavors you have. Again great job with the storytelling and the art, just wish the dang game would have lasted longer lol.

OK, so normally I wouldn't make a comment about a game, but sheesh this game exceeded all my expectations.
So I've played an embarrassing number of otome games and usually feel like the ones that I play in English don't have as much depth as they could, or they suffer in quality in some way. Maybe the story is good, but the art is meh, or maybe there just aren't many possibilities with the routes. But this game doesn't really trip up in all the ways I've come to expect, and you aren't even asking for anything but donations for it. I've honestly paid for games so much worse than this.
Obviously a lot of love went into making this. I am not easily impressed, but you've done it. You pulled off a game about hot elves and my eyes didn't roll even once. THAT is a feat. Thanks for sharing your work with us, and I really hope to see you do more in the future! Xx
This is such an amazing game, especially for the free price! The graphics are gorgeous, so realistic and detailed! The story is interesting, the love interests likable. I love the amount of choice on how to take the story, and the amount of customization! I rushed over here to add my love before I've even finished! I'm playing Vadeyn's route, but Haron has caught my eye. Much longer than I expected, and worth every second!
So i'm not sure if this a bug I found but.. I can't seem to get through the rest of the story once I hit the Cas-cas, I'm thinking its because of the madness points. Is there a clear walkthrough? Other than that I love this Story.
It helped me through my second playthrough. My first one I managed to beat it with out understanding what madness points are. Now I can't even unlock the first option with the Cas-Cas during any other play through. I'm thinking im either too high of madness or too low of madness. Can anyone tell me what or how to get the madness points are?

This is a must if you like VNs. Defenetly one of the best ive read so far. Not even the most you have to pay gives you the expirience this does. Just a 10/10. I hope we can see a second part or another similar game. Loved it!

This free game has exceedingly surpassed my expectations, in fact I can't think of any other VN that comes close to this one. It it truly a masterpiece and I enjoyed every second of playing it.
*The art is gorgeous and the fact that you can customize your character makes everything a hundred times better.
*The story is great. Everything is interesting and written well and told in a right pace.
*The characters are unique and likable
*You can make your own personality and that's probably one of my favorite aspects of this game, that you're given very versatile options to how your character can respond.
*Choices matter!
*Romance is beautifully developed. It's not overwhelming nor lacking. Just right. I only tried one LI so far but I absolutely love him.
*Music is pleasant
Everything about this game is fantastic and I'm shocked I just found it now. Kudos to the dev for creating this masterpiece. As soon as I'll find a job and get my salary, I'll donate.

This is such an amazing game, especially for the free price! The graphics are gorgeous, so realistic and detailed! The story is interesting, the love interests likable. I love the amount of choice on how to take the story, and the amount of customization! I rushed over here to add my love before I've even finished! I'm playing Vadeyn's route, but Haron has caught my eye. Much longer than I expected, and worth every second!

is there a walkthrough of this game? the options are so many!!
So i'm not sure if this a bug I found but.. I can't seem to get through the rest of the story once I hit the Cas-cas, I'm thinking its because of the madness points. Is there a clear walkthrough? Other than that I love this Story.
There's a walkthrough on Underbliss's Tumblr that goes up through the CasCas (no farther, unfortunately, but it should get you through)
It helped me through my second playthrough. My first one I managed to beat it with out understanding what madness points are. Now I can't even unlock the first option with the Cas-Cas during any other play through. I'm thinking im either too high of madness or too low of madness. Can anyone tell me what or how to get the madness points are?

This is a must if you like VNs. Defenetly one of the best ive read so far. Not even the most you have to pay gives you the expirience this does. Just a 10/10. I hope we can see a second part or another similar game. Loved it!

This free game has exceedingly surpassed my expectations, in fact I can't think of any other VN that comes close to this one. It it truly a masterpiece and I enjoyed every second of playing it.
*The art is gorgeous and the fact that you can customize your character makes everything a hundred times better.
*The story is great. Everything is interesting and written well and told in a right pace.
*The characters are unique and likable
*You can make your own personality and that's probably one of my favorite aspects of this game, that you're given very versatile options to how your character can respond.
*Choices matter!
*Romance is beautifully developed. It's not overwhelming nor lacking. Just right. I only tried one LI so far but I absolutely love him.
*Music is pleasant
